Your words are your own.

Minimal Writer is built local-first. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your data. It’s a summary of our approach, not a substitute for legal advice.

What stays on your device

By default, every document you write is stored in your browser (IndexedDB) on the device you wrote it on. If you never enable cloud sync, your writing never leaves your machine, and no account is required.

If you enable cloud sync

Choosing to sign in and sync stores your documents with our cloud provider (Supabase) so they can appear on your other devices. Each row is tied to your account and protected so that only you can read or change it. You can sign in with email or Google.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t read your documents. Analytics, if any, are limited to aggregate, non-identifying usage — never the content of your writing.

Deleting your data

Local documents are removed when you delete them in the app or clear your browser storage. If you use cloud sync, deleting a document removes it from the cloud as well. To remove your account and its data entirely, get in touch and we’ll take care of it.
